Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
