Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
