And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again), 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; 84 And put me among the inheritors of Paradise. 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 Degrade me not upon the day when they are raised up, 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 "'Besides Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?' 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 "'When we held you as equals with the Lord of the Worlds; 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers! 103 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
