The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 On a Great Day, 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Ah the woe that day for those who deny, 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 No indeed! The truth is that their hearts have become rusted on account of their evil deeds. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 But, the record of the righteous is [preserved] in the 'Illiyyin -- 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 when they passed by them they winked, 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 But they had not been sent as keepers over them! 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
