▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ So I call the placement of the stars to witness -- 75 And verily that is a mighty oath, if ye but knew! 76 that this indeed is a noble Qur'an, 77 In a book that is protected 78 Which none toucheth save the purified, 79 a sending down from the Lord of all Being. 80 Is it this Statement that ye scorn, 81 And make denial thereof your livelihood? 82 So why was it not, when the soul reaches up to the throat, – 83 the while you are [helplessly] looking on 84 But We are nearer to him than ye, and yet see not,- 85 why, then, if you are not subject to Our command, 86 Do ye not force it back, if ye are truthful? 87 And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah, 88 (There is for him) Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights. 89 And if he is of those on the right, – 90 Then: peace unto thee, for thou art of those on the right hand. 91 But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray, 92 there shall be a hospitality of boiling water 93 And roasting at hell-fire. 94 This is indeed the ultimate truth. 95 So celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
