The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you who covers himself [with a garment], 1 Arise and warn, 2 Thy Lord magnify 3 And thine inner self purify! 4 and flee from the statues! 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 So that is a tough day. 9 Far from easy for those without Faith. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 And for whom I appointed wealth extended. 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 And made several preparations for him. 14 and who still greedily desires that I should bestow upon him more. 15 Nay, verily, it is against Our messages that he knowingly, stubbornly sets himself 16 [and so] I shall constrain him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 May he be accursed, how he planned! 19 Again, death seize him, how he determined! 20 He then dared to lift his gaze. 21 Then frowned he and scowled. 22 Then turned his back and waxed proud, 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 Him shall I soon roast in Hell. 26 - Ah, what will convey unto thee what that burning is! - 27 It spares not, neither leaves alone 28 Burning the skins! 29 Over it are nineteen. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
