Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions ranged 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
