The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who creates, then makes complete, 2 who determined and guided, 3 Who brought forth the pasture, 4 and thereupon causes it to decay into rust-brown stubble! 5 We shall make you recite so that you will not forget, 6 except whatever God wills; He knows both what is manifest and what is hidden -- 7 We shall ease thee unto the Easing. 8 Therefore advise, if advising is beneficial. 9 in mind will keep it he who stands in awe [of God,] 10 But it will be avoided by the wretched, 11 He who shall roast into the Great Fire, 12 In which he will neither die nor live. 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 And recites the name of his Lord and serves with devotion. 15 However, (the disbelievers) prefer the worldly life 16 While the Hereafter is better and more enduring. 17 This is surely in the earlier Books, 18 Writs of Ibrahim and Musa. 19
