The dwellers of the forest also rejected the messengers. 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 I ask of you no reward for this. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 But in case you are speaking the truth, then make a segment of the sky to fall upon us." 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
