And whatever calamity befalls you, is because of what your hands have earned - and there is a great deal He pardons! 30 you cannot escape Him anywhere on earth. You have no protector or helper other than God. 31 And of His signs are the ships in the sea like landmarks. 32 If He wills, He can calm the winds so the ships remain still on the sea surface; indeed in this are signs for every greatly enduring, grateful person. 33 or He may cause them to founder because of people's misdeeds, He pardons many of them, 34 those who dispute Our signs shall learn that they have no escape. 35 Whatever you have received is only for usage in the life of this world, and that which is with Allah is much better and more lasting - for those who believe and rely upon their Lord. 36 And those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, and when they are angry, they forgive, 37 who obey their Lord and establish Prayer; who conduct their affairs by consultation, and spend out of what We have bestowed upon them; 38 who, when they are attacked, defend themselves. 39 And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is [due] from Allah. Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers. 40 There is no blame against him who avenges himself after he has been wronged. 41 blame falls only on those who wrong men and transgress on this earth without justification, such will have a painful punishment, 42 whoever is patient and forgiving, acts with great courage and resolution. 43
