Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 By the clear Book, 2 Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand. 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 We have sent many a prophet to earlier peoples 6 But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him. 7 Wherefore We destroyed peoples mightier than these in prowess; and there hath gone forth the example of the ancients. 8 And indeed if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will surely say: "The All-Mighty, the All-Knower created them." 9 He it is Who made this earth for you a cradle and made in it pathways for you that you may find the way to your destination; 10 And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure. Then We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from the dead), 11 And He Who created pairs of all things, and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride on, 12 That ye mount firmly on the backs thereof, and then may remember the favour of your Lord when ye mount thereon, and may say: hallowed be He Who hath subjected this unto us, and we for it were not fit. 13 And surely to our Lord we must return. 14 Yet they assign to some of His slaves a share with Him (by pretending that He has children, and considering them as equals or co-partners in worship with Him). Verily, man is indeed a manifest ingrate! 15
