We created man out of dry clay, from moulded mud, 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud. 28 And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." 29 So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 But Satan did not; he refused to join those who prostrated themselves. 31 The Lord inquired: "Iblis! What is the matter with you that you did not join those who prostrated?" 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 The Lord said: "Then get out of here; you are rejected, 34 And verily on thee shall be the curse till the Day of Requital. 35 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 36 The Lord said, "Your request is granted 37 Till the Day of appointed time. 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 (To which God) said: "This way is right by Me. 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
