Nay, by the Moon 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 a warning to humans, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
