Thamood, too, belied Our warnings. 23 So they said, “What! Shall we follow a man from among us? If we do, we are indeed astray, and insane!” 24 "Is it that the Reminder is sent to him [Prophet Salih (Saleh)] alone from among us? Nay, he is an insolent liar!" 25 It was said to Saleh, “They will soon realise tomorrow who is the mischievous great liar.” 26 “We shall send a she-camel to test them, therefore O Saleh, wait and have patience.” 27 Let them know that the water should be divided between them and the she-camel, each availing their turn.” 28 But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her). 29 So how dreadful have been My torment and My warnings. 30 Then We sent a single blast against them and they became like dry stubble which has been trampled upon. 31 We made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would take heed? 32 The people of Lot denied the warning. 33 We sent down upon them a violent sandstorm (which destroyed them all) except for the family of Lot, whom We saved in the early morning by Our favor. 34 As a Grace from Us: thus do We reward those who give thanks. 35 He had warned them of Our assault but they disputed the warnings. 36 They demanded that he turn over his guests to them. We struck their faces, blinded them and said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 37 And early in the morning the decreed punishment came upon them. 38 Now taste My punishment after My warnings! 39 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 40
