The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 those who pay the zakat; 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22
