The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
