We sent Noah to his people who said, "My people, worship God for He is your only Lord. Will you then not have fear of Him?" 23 But the notables among his people had refused to believe, and said: "This is none other than a mortal like yourselves who desires to attain superiority over you. Had Allah wanted (to send any Messengers) He would have sent down angels. We have heard nothing like this in the time of our forebears of old (that humans were sent as Messengers). 24 He is only a man in whom is madness wherefore await for him for a season. 25 Nuh said: my Lord! vindicate me, for they belie me. 26 So We inspired him (with this message): "Construct the Ark within Our sight and under Our guidance: then when comes Our Command, and the fountains of the earth gush forth, take thou on board pairs of every species, male and female, and thy family, except those of them against whom the Word has already gone forth: And address Me not in favour of the wrong-doers; for they shall be drowned (in the Flood). 27 And when you have embarked on the ship, you and whoever is with you, then say: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has saved us from the people who are Zalimun (i.e. oppressors, wrong-doers, polytheists, those who join others in worship with Allah, etc.). 28 And say: "My Lord! Make my landing a blessed landing, for You are the Best of those Who can cause people to land in safety." 29 Verily in that are signs; verily We have ever been provers. 30 Then We produced after them a generation of others. 31 and We sent to them a Messenger from themselves, saying: 'Worship Allah, for you have no god except He. Will you not be cautious' 32
