Whatever misfortune befalls you is of your own doing, God forgives much, 30 and you cannot elude Him on earth, and you will have none to protect you from God [in the life to come,] and none to bring you succour. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, in the sea, like mountains. 32 if He will, He calms the wind so that they remain motionless upon its back, surely, there are signs in this for every thankful, patient (person). 33 or He could have destroyed them as punishment for the human being's deeds. However, God pardons many sins. 34 He knows all those who dispute His revelations. They will find no way to escape from (His torment). 35 Whatever thing you have been given is the enjoyment of the present life; but what is with God is better and more enduring for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. 36 who refrain from heinous sins and gross indecencies; who forgive when they are angry; 37 who respond to their Lord and attend to their prayers; who conduct their affairs by mutual consultation and spend out of what We have provided for them; 38 And those who take revenge when rebellion harms them. 39 And the recompense of evil is punishment like it, but whoever forgives and amends, he shall have his reward from Allah; surely He does not love the unjust. 40 But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them, against such there is no cause of blame. 41 blame attaches but to those who oppress [other] people and behave outrageously on earth, offending against all right: for them there is grievous suffering in store! 42 whoever is patient and forgiving, acts with great courage and resolution. 43
