I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 a warning to humans, 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 except those of the right hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
