The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And no trifle. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
