Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 In a high Garden. 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
