The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
