The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
