Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 and raised couches, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
