Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
HaMeem. 1 By this luminous Book. 2 Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand. 3 It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you because you are a sinful nation? 5 And how many a prophet We sent among the ancients. 6 Yet never did a Prophet come to them but they mocked him. 7 We destroyed the strongest among them in power. The stories of the ancient people have already been mentioned. 8 If you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will answer: "The Mighty and All-knowing created them," 9 (It is) He who made the earth to be a cradle for you and made in it ways for you, in order that you are guided. 10 Who sent down water in due measure from the sky, then quickened a region that was dead -- So shall We bring you forth -- 11 That has created pairs in all things, and has made for you ships and cattle on which ye ride, 12 so that when you are mounted upon them you may remember the bounty of your Lord, and say: “Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to Us whereas we did not have the strength to subdue it. 13 And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return." 14 Yet they attribute to some of His servants a share with Him (in his godhead)! truly is man a blasphemous ingrate avowed! 15
