He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified. 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 you pay him no heed. 10 Not this way this is the advice. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 noble, pious. 16 Perish man! how ungrateful he is! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let man look at his food: 24 We send down abundant water, 25 and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, 40 and overcast with gloom: 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
