Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 He plunged the villages 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
