We built the heavens by Our authority; and We are the Lord of power and expanse. 47 And We made the earth a base, so how well do We lay out! 48 We have created everything in pairs so that perhaps you may take heed. 49 So flee to Allah. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner. 50 and do not set up any deity with Allah. Surely I am a clear warner to you from Him. 51 Thus has it been (in the past): never did a Messenger come to the nations that preceded them but they said: “(He is) a sorcerer, or a mad-man.” 52 Have they handed this down from one to another? No, rather, they are an insolent nation. 53 (Muhammad), leave them alone and you will not be blamed. 54 But go on reminding them, as reminding benefits the believers. 55 I created the jinn and humankind only that they might worship Me. 56 I seek not any provision from them (i.e. provision for themselves or for My creatures) nor do I ask that they should feed Me (i.e. feed themselves or My creatures). 57 Surely Allah is the Bestower of sustenance, the Lord of Power, the Strong. 58 And verily, they who are bent on doing evil shall have their share [of evil] like unto the share of their fellows [of old]: so let them not ask Me to hasten [their doom]! 59 So ruin is for disbelievers, from their day – which they are promised. 60
