He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, 1 when the blind came to him. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what did He create him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it): 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 but others will be gloomy 40 with darkness overspread: 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
Almighty God's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
