Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
