And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 while We had brought the jinn into being before out of blazing fire. 27 And lo! Thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create mortal man out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted; 28 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My Spirit fall down unto him prostrate. 29 The angels bowed in homage in a body 30 But Satan did not; he refused to join those who prostrated themselves. 31 Said He: "O Iblis! What is thy reason for not being among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 Condemned till the day of Doom!" 35 He said: 'My Lord, reprieve me till the Day they are raised' 36 Allah said: verily then thou art of the respited: 37 for an appointed time." 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 except the devoted amongst Your worshippers. 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 "Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawin (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.). 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 Seven gates it has, and unto each gate a set portion of them belongs.' 44
