And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 42
