And We did not create the heaven and the earth and that between them aimlessly. That is the assumption of those who disbelieve, so woe to those who disbelieve from the Fire. 27 Do We consider the righteously striving believers equal to the evil-doers in the land? Are the pious ones equal to those who openly commit sin? 28 This is a blessed Book which We sent down to you [Muhammad], for people to ponder over its messages, and for those with understanding to take heed. 29 We bestowed Solomon on David who was an excellent devotee, for he turned to God in penitence. 30 [and even] when, towards the close of day, nobly-bred, swift-footed steeds were brought before him, 31 And he said: "Alas! I did love the good (these horses) instead of remembering my Lord (in my 'Asr prayer)" till the time was over, and (the sun) had hidden in the veil (of night). 32 Bring them back to me' And he hacked their legs and necks (slaughtering them for Allah). 33 We surely tried Solomon, and placed another body on his throne. So he turned to God 34 He said, “My Lord! Forgive me and bestow upon me a kingdom, which shall not befit anyone after me; indeed only You are the Great Bestower.” 35 Then We subjected the wind to his power, to flow gently to his order, Whithersoever he willed,- 36 And the devils -- the builders and divers of all kinds, 37 And many others bound in bond. 38 This is Our gift, so bestow thou or withhold, without rendering an account. 39 In Our eyes he certainly has a high position and the best place to return. 40
