Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; 41 It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. 45 (So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people. 46
