Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
