The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 pay their religious tax 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 These are the real gainers, 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 We created the human from an essence of clay: 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And certainly We made above you seven heavens; and never are We heedless of creation. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 Also, a tree which grows on the Tor of Sinai and gives oil and relish for its eaters. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
