The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
