Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And accepts the best, 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And rejects the best, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
