On the Day each soul will come pleading for itself, and every soul will be repaid according to whatever it has done, and they will not be wronged. 111 And Allah presents an example: a city which was safe and secure, its provision coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of Allah. So Allah made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been doing. 112 A Messenger from their own people came to them and they called him a liar. Torment struck them because of their injustice. 113 Therefore eat the lawful and good sustenance Allah has provided you, and be grateful for the blessings of your Lord, if you worship Him. 114 He has forbidden you only Al-Maytatah (meat of a dead animal), blood, the flesh of swine, and any animal which is slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allah (or has been slaughtered for idols etc. or on which Allah's Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering). But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, and not transgressing, then, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 115 And do not say what your tongues falsely describe 'This is lawful, and that is forbidden' in order to forge a lie about Allah. Indeed, those who forge a lie about Allah shall never prosper. 116 A little enjoyment – and for them is a punishment, most painful. 117 And especially for the Jews We forbade which We related to you earlier; and We did not oppress them, but it is they who wronged themselves. 118 But to those who commit evil out of ignorance and then repent and amend their ways, thereafter your Lord will be Much Forgiving, Most Merciful. 119
