The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
