The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the defrauders, 1 who demand of other people full measure for themselves, 2 but who, when they measure or weigh for others, give less than their due. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 unto a mighty day 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe, that Day, to those that deny- 10 Those that deny the Day of Judgment. 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is? 19 a written record, 20 To which bear witness those nearest (to Allah, i.e. the angels). 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 for it is composed of all that is most exalting 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 though they were not sent to be their keepers -- 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
