Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 therein a running fountain, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
