And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
