Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
And indeed, We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 26 whereas the invisible beings We had created, [long] before that, out of the fire of scorching winds. 27 When your Lord said to the angels, "I will create the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay. 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together 30 except Iblis who refused to join with the others in prostration. 31 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What happened to you that you stayed apart from those who prostrated?” 32 He said: "It does not behove of me to prostrate myself before a human being whom You have created out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud." 33 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 36 He answered: 'You are among those reprieved 37 till the appointed time. 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 verily, thou shalt have no power over My creatures - unless it be such as are [already] lost in grievous error and follow thee [of their own will]: 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 Unto it are seven portals; unto each portal is a portion of them assigned. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
