The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 So that they shall be as scattered dust. 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 And those on the left how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 A multitude of those of old 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 And raised couches; 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 and made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 For the Companions of the Right Hand. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
