In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
