Hizb 46

And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 Then lots were drawn and he became of those who were pushed into the sea. 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 Of us there is none but hath a station assigned. 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 We glorify God." 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 assuredly they shall be helped, 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 Do they want to suffer Our torment immediately? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
