Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 He said: "You are people I do not know." 62 They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, 63 "And we have brought to you the truth (the news of the destruction of your nation) and certainly, we tell the truth. 64 So set forth, thou with thy family, in a watch of the night, and follow after the backs of them, and let not any one of you turn round; and depart unto the place you are commanded.' 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 Then came the people of the city, exulting at the news. 67 He said, 'These are my guests; put me not to shame, 68 "And do not disgrace me. Have some fear of God." 69 They said, "Did we not forbid you to extend hospitality to strangers?" 70 Lot said, "These are my daughters if you want them." 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 Then the shout took hold of them at the sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside-down and showered on them lumps of baked clay. 74 Surely in that are signs for such as mark; 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 Verily, herein lies a message indeed for all who believe [in God]. 77 Since the People of the Forest were unjust, 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79
