Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
