Hizb 46
< random >
And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 he would indeed have remained in its belly till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 " Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up; 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 And indeed the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And watch, for they will soon see. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
